It is in my soul. Even as a little boy I would play my mini-guitar, sing, and dance for my family. I was born in Virginia to two artistic parents and in middle school we moved to the Tampa Bay area of Florida. It was then that I started writing songs. You know the ones with five words repeating over and over, we all had to start somewhere. You could give my music the title pop or rock, but if you look deeper it reflects the music of the 90’s when I would listen to my older sister’s cassette tapes or when I was in the car with my mom listening to the musical sound tracks of the Disney films. My songs also contain a bit of a southern country edge I inherited from my Alabama dad along with the beat of modern worship music. Since those early, simple songs, I have worked on developing and improving my craft of songwriting. I usually start with the music and then let the lyrics speak to me. They usually tell a story, sometimes the words reflect what’s eating me up inside, other times it’s a way to show my feelings. I am Pro Tools certified, so once the lyrics and music have fused, I love hearing it come together in the recording.
